Earn while U Learn
As Australians thinking about a working holiday, we have many options. From volunteering in a third world community or teaching English in Japan, to working at an all American summer camp or just heading to London to see what life brings, there are plenty of organisations who can help you on your way. To get you started here are a few of the more common choices and websites of some organisations to contact.
Working Holiday Visa SchemeAustralia is part of the Working Holiday Maker (WHM) visa scheme, which is a reciprocal agreement between Australia and 14 other countries, allowing WHM visa holders to live and work in their selected country for, in most cases, 12 months. For more info, click here.

LEARNING
Exchange programsIf you want to complement your formal education with learning in a different culture and lifestyle with another family, an exchange program is for you. You can learn a lot about yourself and gain confidence and self-sufficiency. Student exchange Australia
With student exchange Australia, you’ll live overseas for one to 12 months with a host family and attend a local school. You’ll learn the local language and gain valuable international experience. Rotary Youth Exchange Program
With the Rotary youth exchange program, you’ll spend one year living in another country, usually with three or four host families. These rotary families are volunteers who will welcome and care for you, supervise your year and introduce you to their culture and lifestyle, including their language and foods.
Backpacker Essentials, YHA's quarterly member magazine writes regularly about changes and updates to the working overseas rules and regulations. New countries are joining the WHM visa scheme all the time.
